Who We Are

In nature, nectar serves as a source of supply that not only nourishes many creatures but also plays a critical role in creating the new and innovative (think: attracting pollinators and producing honey!).

At Nectar Education, we aim to inspire, empower, and create ‘nourishment’ to advance innovative education.

We inspire . . .

As a non-profit organization, our unwavering mission is to cultivate transformative learning experiences that extend beyond the confines of traditional school settings. Our evidence-informed learning programs foster the development of young individuals as positive change makers and responsible global citizens of tomorrow.

Once we provide young people with opportunities to showcase their capability as caretakers on this planet, we will undoubtedly be amazed and reflect on why we hadn't granted them this chance sooner.

Dr. Fadwa Elashi

We are determined to advance innovative learning opportunities that empower young people to be responsible global citizens and positive change leaders.

We empower . . .

Most educational settings seem to solely focus on what young people need to learn, often neglecting the how and why. By nurturing our Khulfafa competencies and cultivating young people’s potential, we empower them to become creators and leaders who shape a better tomorrow.

KHULAFA is the Arabic word for ‘caretakers of the planet’.

We create . . .

Each of the design principles below guide our approach towards reaching our mission.

Competency-based

We strive to create personalized pathways that effectively guide them in mastering essential skills and unlocking their full potential.

Challenge-based

We prioritize the 'why' in learning. We craft impactful learning experiences that are linked to authentic community needs and provide learners with valuable opportunities to take the lead and actively contribute to positive change within their communities.

Whole-child driven

We take a long-term approach in our design and ask ourselves: what can I do today to help learners become more empathetic leaders (social emotional learning), effective change-makers (creativity and innovation), and better learners (metacognitive skills)?

Interdisciplinary

We believe real learning isn't mutually exclusive but rather integrative. People require a range of skills regardless of their specialized field. Through meaningful projects, learners will experience a broad range of skills in one program.

Collaborative

We believe the space created for learning is noble and honorable. Far from negative competition among learners for grades and false expectations from teachers, we foster a culture of peer collaboration, creating a space where everyone, including educators and students, embraces the role of a learner.

Community connected

We believe that learning should not exist in isolation from the community and its needs. We establish close partnerships with community members, including parents and local organizations to ensure that our learners are equipped with the skills necessary to be effective change leaders.

Our Team

We strongly believe that educators play a noble role in the lives of learners, extending beyond the mere transmission of content. Our team is honoured to create enriching learning experiences that empower learners to actively make meaningful and impactful contributions to global society.
